Deeplight Gambits: The Relari War Games!

Join Deeplight for our stand-alone strategy wargame, Deeplight Gambits, a blend of Dungeons & Dragons, Chess, and Risk. Take control of your troops, work with your allies, and use boons earned during the event to take down the enemy team with a wide blend of maps and objectives.
Players will take on the role of mercenary commanders taking part in wargames between two opposing Relari factions. You will choose units to command from soldiers, cavalry, archers, and mages to represent your troop platoons, then strategize with your team on how to divide the forces to ensure victory. After winning (or losing) your objectives, engage in espionage events, purchase upgrades for your units, roleplay with other players on both sides of the conflict, and earn boons and rewards to use during the next round of combat encounters.
The boardgame itself is a custom-made system designed by members of the Deeplight staff. It was designed to be quick to play and easy to understand, while still being deep and engaging for unit strategy and tactics. Last played in 2021, most players will have little-to-no experience with this system, so don’t be afraid if you’re new to Deeplight! To keep things moving and to help with the rules, we will also have NPC Gamemasters running the maps so you don’t have to know everything to play and have fun. Everything will be explained at the event, and a demo of the game will be available during the Rumor’s and Revelry event in February!

The Wishmaker Festival
(A Fem & Non-Binary Only Event)

Once, long ago, there was a determined and spirited young elf who lived in the world tree. This elf had a dream, one they wished for with all of their heart. They longed to become a warrior and protect their great home, just like all their ancestors before them. But the odds were against the elf, for their body had been frail from birth, rendering them unable to wield a sword or fight hand to hand combat.
Despite this, the elf's will remained strong. Every night, they would gaze up through the branches of the world tree, wishing upon them and the stars that twinkled beyond, for a way to become the great warrior they dreamed of.
On the eve of the brightest night, the stars heard their wish and chose to grant it. A bow, first of its kind, was crafted from the very top most branch of the world tree. It was strung together by pure starlight and made to be a perfect fit for the elf.
With this great gift and answered wish, the elf went on to become a legendary warrior, protecting the tree for all their years. They inspired generations upon generations to take up the art of archery and changed the way battles could be fought.
Now, legend has it that the elf watches over from within the night sky, protecting the world tree and all of Deeplight's archers. And if you happen to be lucky enough to spot one of the elf's starry arrows, shooting across the night sky, they may even grant your greatest wish.
That is why on the evening of the brightest night, we celebrate this elf, and the stars that blessed them, with a star-gazing festival held in the Haven. We gather stars, in hopes to end the night with the most and be chosen as the year's Wishmaker. We compete in the archery contest, play games in remembrance of the great battles fought, and solve puzzles to once again banish the Wishmaker’s greatest foe. And most importantly, we tie our own dreams on the branches of the great sapling, for it will one day grow tall enough to bring our wishes straight to the stars.

What Awaits You:
Immersive Roleplay: A player-driven world where your actions, alliances, betrayals, and quiet acts of kindness all shape the unfolding narrative. Whether you are here to star gaze casually or compete for the festival title, you will feel the world of Deeplight come alive.
Mystery & Trickery: The Wishmaker’s greatest foe, known only as The Trickster, is out and about at this event. Every year, a shade form infiltrates, vying for the wishmaker title and all that goes with it. Bring your best investigative skills and figure out who it is before it’s too late!
Games & Lore: Test your luck at all the festival games and learn about monsters the Wishmaker defeated. Uncover hidden secrets and spells through interactions with players, NPCs and the environment itself!
Event Essentials:
April Showers: Prepare yourself for bad weather. We will have some indoor spaces in case of rain, but pack your cloaks just in case!
Combat: Combat will be allowed outside of the building and tents. Bring your blades for friendly sparring!
Refreshments & Food: Food and drink is included in the price to attend! Enjoy a delicious dinner and a show.
Alcohol-Free Event: This location does not permit ANY alcoholic drinks on the property. We will be serving fun mocktails instead!
Immersive Atmosphere: We will provide in-game coins for your roleplay adventures or if you have attended a Deeplight event, you can pull from your character's supply of hoarded coins. Bring your character, garb, and an eagerness to jump into the story!
New Player & NPC Support: Spare garb, and equipment are available for new players and NPCs, so no gear, no problem! The world of Deeplight is welcoming to new and seasoned adventurers alike.
Overnight Options: There is space to tent on the grounds. Please prepare by bringing your own tent and sleeping gear as well as selecting the overnight add-on option.
If you would prefer a more modern option, Home2 Suites by Hilton in Menomonee Falls is 3 minutes away by vehicle, so be sure to book your stay!
